The Spoilers have to take this week off from DVD reporting, but we wanted
to make sure you got our list of recommendations we had planned to talk about.
We'll be back next Sunday with our weekly review of new DVDs, and of course
we're still working on new commentaries for you, including: The Planet of the
Apes (1969), Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and The Princess
Bride. If you have questions of fun facts on any of these flicks, drop us
a line at spoilermail@spoilermail.com.

In the mean time, follow the "read me" for this week's hot DVDs, and links
to Amazon to buy them (it doesn't cost any more, and it helps us pay the
bills!)

WarGames: Spoilers Podcast 004

by RickMacMerc (Podcasts NTSC)

This will be a true geek commentary. We're covering John Badham's 1983 film, WarGames, starring Matthew Broderick, Dabney Coleman, John Wood and Ally Sheedy. Your commentators as usual are Bill Douthett and myself, Rick Yaeger, but we will be channelling our "alternate identities" more on this commentary than we have previously. Bill is better known as Digital Bill from the podcast "the Wizards of Technology" and "The Update Wizard" and I have my own web site for Macintosh professionals at MacMerc.com.

The Spoilers will not be geeking unassisted this time around. We have enlisted the help of another technology expert and movie buff, Andy Ihnatko. Andy is best known for his technology column in The Chicago Sun-Times as well as Macworld Magazine's back-page opinion articles. If you doubt is movie commenting powers, consider that Roger Ebert credits him for writing "at least a third" of his Ebert's Little Movie Glossary (highly recommended little book) In short, whether it's technology or cinema, Andy knows his stuff and we are thrilled to have him as our guest on this commentary. (check out The Mac OS Tiger Book by Andy Ihnatko)

Also new for this podcast, we will not be providing notes on the website. We had intended to--we did the research. We even tried to pepper the commentary with it every so often, but once Andy got going it was hard to jump in to talk about some bit of trivia that was not nearly as interesting as what he was saying...or singing. We ended up just winging it and having a hell of a good time. Hope you do too.
